Install water wells for the village, livestock, and crops
Presently, people living in the village and the surrounding areas are using a hand pump well about 1.5 miles away from our land. The pump works for about 1 hour and then is unusable for 2-3 hours. As they run out of patience, many in the community resort to pulling their drinking water from the swamp next to our land. The water is unclean and unsafe, but often is the only available source. Typhoid and other gastrointestinal disorders are prevalent.
The future borehole well, preferably solar powered and mechanized, will service all of the needs of our current and future village. Our aim would also be to install an additional well at the edge of the land to service the surrounding villagers. The cost for the large well with a solar-powered pump will be $27,000 USD. The smaller hand-pump well costs around $12,000 USD.
We are working with the Ugandan Water Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to conduct surveys of the land and install our wells in the most accessible and productive sections of our land. The effect of this well will not only save lives, but will provide a consistent source of clean water for drinking, hygiene, livestock, and crops for years to come.
We need your support! You can make a tax-deductible donation directly through the Ugandan Water Project website under our project’s page at the link below.
UPDATE: As of May 2, 2025, the well project is 97% funded! We are just $750 away from reaching our goal and making this vision a reality. The land has already been surveyed, and drilling is scheduled to begin on mid-May, 2025.
This is a pivotal moment, and your support can help bring clean, fresh water to the community. Together, we can make a lasting impact. Please consider contributing to help close the gap and ensure the success of this vital project.
We also ask for your prayers as we move forward—prayers for a successful drilling process and for uncovering a reliable source of life-giving water. Thank you for being part of this mission!
