Current Funding Priorities
Presently, people living in the village and the surrounding areas are using a hand-pump well over a mile away from our land. The pump works for about one hour and then is unusable for 2-3 hours. Many in the community become impatient and resort to using water from the swamp next to our land. The water is unclean and unsafe, but sometimes the only available source. Typhoid and other gastrointestinal disorders are prevalent.
The process to install a large borehole well with a solar-powered pump that can service all of the current and future needs of our land is underway. Our plan to also provide a well at the edge of our property to serve the surrounding neighbors.
The cost for the large well will be $27,000 USD. The smaller hand-pump well is around $12,000 USD. We are working with the Ugandan Water Project to install these wells at a depth of at least 60 feet to provide clean drinking water for the entire village and surrounding area. This water well project will not only save lives, but will provide a consistent source of clean water for survival, hygiene, livestock, and crops.
This project is our top priority for funding. Once funding is complete, our next step in our village process is to buy a tractor and start building the primary school. Please consider donating below to this effort.
While awaiting our 501(c)(3) status, we have partnered with the Ugandan Water Project to help build a well. Click below to support our sponsored campaign.
